World Afghan Congress (WEC) is the largest independent, non-partisan and non-profit federation of Afghan diaspora organisations from across the world.  WEC is dedicated to uniting the Afghan diaspora from every continent, representing their best interests and building a global community of ‘Friends of Afghanistan’ in every country of the world.  Founded by Afghan Council of Great Britain, WEC envisions a future where every Afghan expat community is fully integrated in their adopted countries, participating in public life and building bridges with Afghanistan.

WHAT DO WE DO

UNIFY THE AFGHAN DIASPORA

Millions of Afghans live in nations across the globe as responsible citizens of their adopted countries. We work with organisations representing their communities in each country to bring Afghans together and give them a united global voice as their basic human right in their respective countries, and on global platforms.

PROTECT AFGHAN INTERESTS

We work to represent and protect the social, cultural and economic interests of the global Afghan community in every corner of the world. We bring issues affecting the community to the attention of national government authorities, regional inter-governmental organisations and world bodies.

FRIENDS OF AFGHANISTAN

Afghanistan has been ravaged by four decades of war, poverty and terrorism. The people of Afghanistan need the support of the world to rebuild a new life and a new nation. We work with political leaders from both sides of the aisle, business leaders and social activists in many countries to build the ‘Friends of Afghanistan’ coalition.

EVERY YEAR, FROM LONDON TO KABUL, WASHINGTON, PARIS AND DUBAI, WE HOLD

WHERE THE MOST PROMINENT PERSONALITIES OF THE AFGHAN COMMUNITY FROM AROUND THE WORLD COME TOGETHER TO TALK ABOUT IMPORTANT ISSUES AND CHALLENGES THAT AFFECT THE COMMUNITY, OUR COUNTRIES AND THE WORLD
